Best Western Hotel La Solara participates in the Stay for the Planet program by BWH Hotels Italy & South-East Europe and adheres to the Travelife initiative, an international program that promotes sustainable practices in the tourism and hospitality sector. The goal is to ensure responsible management of the property through actions that can actively involve suppliers, local community and guests by asking all of them as our stakeholders for a valuable support and collaboration in order for us to achieve our goals:
In 2025, comparing data from the previous year, we achieved positive results, particularly with regard to:
Reduction in the quantity of waste of all types and related greenhouse gas emissions by a total of 1,155.00 kg and 3,356.70 kg of CO2, respectively.
Furthermore, for a total of 26,416 guests, we reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 0.09 kg CO2 per person and by 0.07 kg CO2 per person per m2.
We consumed 325 kg less solid detergent.
We consumed 196 liters less liquid detergent.
Overall, greenhouse gas emissions from solid waste decreased by 3,242.91 kg CO2.
We purchased 189 kg less meat and 193 kg less fish.
We reduced greenhouse gas emissions from composted waste by 2.56 kg CO2 and from landfill waste by 153.59 kg CO2.
We also reduced energy greenhouse gas emissions by 3,242.91 kg CO2.
One of our goals for the future is to reduce the consumption of water and energy and consequent related CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions. This includes installing next-generation boilers to recover condensation from the air conditioning system, which is then reused for the sanitary facilities via heat exchangers. This represents a highly -efficient solution, reducing the load on the primary heat generators and drastically reducing the consumption of potable water for sanitary purposes.
To this end, electricity sub-meters will be installed, possibly by end March 2026, in every area of the hotel to rationalize and constantly monitor consumption, including to monitor any anomalies and waste.
Another goal we will pursue through the renewal of our annual membership fee to the Federalberghi Penisola Sorrentina is to participate in and support the continuity program for the establishment of scholarships awarded to students whose parents are employees in the tourism sector through the associated Bilateral entity, a joint body between employers and labor unions, as well as for the promotion of local products by recommending local suppliers to member hotels through a connected consortium.
